Nathan Grooms is a Facilities Maintenance instructor and has been in the carpentry and construction business for over 20 years. Before coming to teach at Job Corps, he worked as a carpenter in the Ottumwa School District. Nathan grew up in the construction business, as his family owned and operated a successful construction company that completed projects like the Wapello County Jail, The Beach Ottumwa waterpark and even Ottumwa Job Corps. He is a six-year Army veteran and worked as a helicopter mechanic. He also spent seven years as an environmental supervisor at a nursing home. Nathan loves being able to connect with students and has a gift for teaching young adults.
