Lee Gomez has worked with Gary Job Corps Center for 20 years and has over 40 years of welding experience. He holds multiple industry certifications and teaches students foundational welding skills. Lee enjoys encouraging students to become successful and pursue careers in welding. 

Kenny Gordon - Electrical - Gary Job Corps Center

Kenny Gordon

is the Electrical instructor at Gary Job Corps Center and has worked as an electrician since 1980. He has experience working for Exxon, Shell and Mobile and has worked overseas in Japan, Germany, Russia and Canada. In 2010, Kenny decided to use his knowledge to instruct students at Job Corps and enjoys guiding them toward success.

Jose Sosa - Advanced Cement Masonry, Pre-Apprentice - Gary Job Corps Center

Jose Sosa

graduated from Gary Job Corps Center in 2003 and now serves as a Construction Foundation instructor. After graduating from Job Corps, he earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration at Texas State University. Jose is also an entrepreneur and owns three businesses. He values his students’ success in finding a career in the construction industry.

Jesus “Jesse” Gonzalez - Corrections Officer - Gary Job Corps Center

Jesse Gonzalez

joined the Gary Job Corps Center team as a Corrections Officer instructor after retiring from the Federal Bureau of Prisons in 2011. He holds a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Texas State University. Jesse is passionate about assisting students in pursuing a career in corrections or law enforcement.

Jeanie Silguero - Office Administration - Gary Job Corps Center

Jeanie Silguero

has worked at Gary Job Corps Center for nearly 30 years in a number of different roles and now serves as the Office Administration instructor. Jeanie enjoys teaching and mentoring students in her training area, eventually helping them reach employment. 

Henry Singleton - Machining - Gary Job Corps Center

Henry Singleton

joined Gary Job Corps Center as the Machining instructor over 10 years ago after graduating from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. He specializes in teaching Introduction to Manufacturing and Machinist Technology and enjoys providing foundational instruction to his students as they begin their careers.

David Black - Building Construction Technology, Pre-Apprentice - Gary Job Corps Center

David Black

worked in the construction field for 14 years before joining Gary Job Corps Center as the Building Construction Technology instructor. He enjoys teaching the basics of multiple industries, from plumbing and electrical to carpentry and painting. David’s goal is that each of his students is prepared to begin an apprenticeship program after completing their Job Corps training.

Carlos Reyes - Heating, Ventilation, & Air Conditioning - Gary Job Corps Center

Carlos Reyes

brings experience in the military to his role as the Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) instructor at Gary Job Corps Center. His background taught him how to build rapport among teammates, which he is able to use in the classroom with students. Carlos trains students in HVAC fundamentals, equipment troubleshooting, problem diagnoses and repairs to ensure his students’ employability and success.
